Born in Brooklyn
Yes, I was...and it's still where my heart is. So you can imagine when a local news station covered Brooklyn companies I paid close attention and was rewarded by learning about Brooklyn Bags , a truly one of a kind handbag company.
This style, Esther , caught my eye right off the bat.
I love the off center kiss lock handle, and the asymetrical quilting. The rhinestone brooch is the perfect retro touch...it's one of those rare bags which seems vintage but maintains some current feeling in the design.
Another special thing about Brooklyn Bags is that you are in control...don't like pink silk? Choose a different fabric and there are plenty. Think the bag is too big? Too small? Call or e-mail to Customize it to your specifications (you can even mail in your own fabric).
At $80 the Esther may be the most expensive bag they offer, most fall into the $50 range. They are all made to order and take 2-4 weeks for delivery which is a very reasonable turnaround.

I have a bright green leather bag, which I absolutely love. It’s big, bold and if I do say so myself, downright cool! The thing is, I’ve had it for ages and I’m beginning to get a little bored, you know how it goes. What’s more I keep noticing red bags everywhere, which has made me realise that I must move on!...
